The Avalon Center for Technical Excellence, a satellite campus of Winter Park Tech, opened in August 2007 and reinforces OCPS’ commitment to career and technical education as the first technical school constructed by OCPS since Orlando Tech, which was completed in 1981.

With Phase 1 now complete, the school currently offers 4 technical programs: Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy Tech and two Cosmetology programs – Nails and Facials Specialties.  During Phase 2, additional programs will be developed to meet the local hiring needs of business and industry.  Expected program offerings include: Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Digital Media, Home Integration Technology, Robotics/Simulation and Massage Therapy.
