There are several Winter Park Tech scholarship opportunities for students, and the highlights of each are summarized here:
CTE SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship is based on need, and the applicant must show evidence of yearly income not to exceed 350% above poverty guidelines. It is awarded on a one-semester basis, renewable if the student meets established guidelines. The counselors have the CTE Scholarship Guidelines and Application. Student must complete the FASFA application and be declared ineligible for Pell or SFAF before applying for the CTE Scholarship.
ESOL SCHOLARSHIP – This $500 scholarship is guaranteed to any student who graduates from the ESOL program at Winter Park Tech or WPT/ACE, and it may only be used for tuition toward a career training program at Winter Park Tech.
GED SCHOLARSHIP - This $500 scholarship is guaranteed to any student who earns a GED through Winter Park Tech or WPT/ACE, and it may only be used for tuition toward a career training program at Winter Park Tech.
WPT HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA SCHOLARSHIP – This $500 scholarship is guaranteed to any student who earns a Winter Park Tech or a WPT/ACE high school diploma, and it may only be used for tuition toward a career training program at Winter Park Tech.
WPT SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship is for the Dual Enrollment and GED Exit Option student who excels in his/her technical program during high school and is recommended by the program instructor to receive a scholarship for one or two terms (determined by a school committee chaired by the Tech Prep Coordinator) to complete the technical training program as an adult student.
WPT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP – This scholarship opportunity is based on need, and the student will identify his/her request and the reason (need) for the request in a letter addressed to the Foundation board. The school director will submit the request to the Foundation board and will inform the student of the board’s decision.
