About the Foundation
During 2003, Diane Culpepper, Senior Director of Winter Park Tech, proposed to the School Advisory Council that a foundation be established in order to provide scholarships for students. Mrs. Culpepper had a dream that no student would be denied an opportunity to enroll in school and complete his or her program due to financial constraints. Whether it is tuition, money for books, uniforms, or GED exams, or funds to help pay for transportation or childcare, Mrs. Culpepper hopes that the will be the key to helping students build a better future.
The Foundation for Winter Park Tech, Inc. is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation established under Florida law in 2004. The general purpose is to do all and everything necessary, either alone or in association with other individuals or partnerships, to enable students to become confident, self-directed, adult learners. The activities, funds, and resources produced by the Foundation are managed by a board of directors comprised of dedicated business leaders. These men and women serve the Foundation without compensation, providing their time and energy to foster support for the students of Winter Park Tech.
Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to provide scholarships and financial assistance to students who otherwise would not be able to attend school.
Events
The inaugural event of the Foundation for Winter Park Tech, Inc. was held on January 24, 2006 from 5 – 7 pm at the school. This event offered an opportunity for the business community and friends of Winter Park Tech to learn more about the goals of the Foundation and how our students’ lives have changed because of the education they receive at Winter Park Tech.
