Winter Park
Tech, one of four Orange Technical Education Centers
operated by Orange Public County Schools, is approved
by the State Department of Education.
Technical training programs focus around the career
clusters of Art, AV Technology & Communication, Business Management & Administrative, Health Science, Human Services, Information Technology and Architecture & Construction. Currently, 22 career certificate
programs are offered to adults and high school students.
There is also a continuous schedule of academic courses
for adult high school credit, GED preparation, academic
remediation, adult basic education, and Adult English
Literacy/ESOL.
The center is accredited by the Accrediting Commission
of the Council on Occupational Education (COE), the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation
and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and by the Commission
on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).
Two programs have additional national accreditation:
- Winter Park Tech’s Medical Assisting program
is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of
Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation
of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB), CAAHEP,

- Winter Park Tech’s Medical Record Transcribing ATD is accepted by the Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (ACCP), a joint committee established by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) and America Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) for certifying a approving medical transcription education programs. The Medical Recording Transcribing program has been proven to be in compliance to having a Model Curriculum, maintain sound educational programming, producing competent entry-level medical transcriptionists, and providing assurance to the public of consistency and quality outcomes for medical transcription education.
