Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Adult Basic Education involves non-credit courses designed to develop literacy skills necessary for successful employment and citizenship. The content develops basic literacy in all areas of knowledge, including reading, language and mathematics. These courses can prepare students to enroll in GED preparation courses or increase their skill levels for entry into career programs.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
This program is designed for limited English proficient adult students to acquire skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing the English language and to facilitate their acculturation to the society of the United States. Citizenship classes and Workforce Readiness classes are also offered through this department.
GED – General Education Development
This program provides access to individualized instruction in preparation for the tests of General Educational Development (GED) as a service to those students who do not have a high school diploma. The content of instruction includes the five subject area measured in the GED tests: Language Arts (Reading, Language Arts) Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
